No, I’m not copying these from Jill Whalen. But I found her article through google when I want to make sure the title of this article was correct grammatically. Yes, English wasn’t my first language, I keep learning and I’m suck at grammar so, welcome any kind of critic or input. In fact, I’d gladly appreciated them.

‘‘I’m not the same with the majority. I’m different. They don’t understand me. I don’t enjoy what they enjoy, I don’t fond what they fond of. I live this life differently. I walk a different path.’’

sound familiar…?

The truth is, we actually just the same ‘blinded’ living beings which coincidentally living in this same earth, having body and mind, to keep walking on the ‘journey’ called ‘life’.

What make us ‘feel different’ is ‘our mind’. Each of us perceive and respond to things on our journey differently, at different moment, different occasion, and different condition. Ever heard or read a story about blind men and an elephant..? There, you have a glimpse.

We’re just the same living being, having body and mind, with a different ‘journey’ based on how we perceive and responding things on the way at a different moment, different occasion, and different condition.

All of us have a tendency to claim ‘I’m right, they’re wrong.’ based on our limited, subjective experience while ignoring other people’s limited, subjective experiences which may be equally true and right. We also getting so used to compare everything. Literally, everything. The more things lay in front of us, the more we learn to comparing them with each other and pick the one we decide to be the best one for us and forgetting how to appreciate what we had in our hand.

Why do some people still feel alone and unintelligible while the other insist and telling them ‘you are not alone’…? They truly deeply understand their feeling of each other since they literally having some similar experience once.. twice.. or couple of times! But still, they’ll feel different and alone at some moment, or at many moment and occasion. Why…?

It’s because those event happened and occurred at a different time in that moment, with different setting, faced by the particular one person who’s experience it.

This is when most of us start to feel and telling our self that ‘I’m different, I’m alone’, and the more frequently that sound occurred inside our mind telling our self that ‘I’m different, I’m alone’, the more profound we believe that ‘I’m different and I’m alone’.

If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes accepted as truth. -Joseph Goebbels-

It’s important how this particular person at each moment perceive and judge the event they encounter or experience to determine the next step they’ll take and keep surviving on this journey.

There’s nothing wrong when we feel alone and different but…, knowing how to accept and embrace our different with an open arm and enjoy it, is what we need to learn in this long yet short ‘journey’.

We’re all different. Yet, we’re just the same. Cheers! 🍻
