I had to emphasize that I'm honestly asking because... as Chinese Indonesian here, we used to be called 'Cina' (so I can assure you that I know how some of you feel now after reading this article) in the past by our fellow Indonesian until the government changes the term from 'Cina' to 'Tionghua'...
Adding side note, in our mother language, we called everyone from another country as 'ngoi ket nyin' which is same as gaikokujin and shortened to gaijin in Japanese (It's come from the same kanji 外国人 which translated as 'a person from another country'), and no, we do not use it as an insult... 😶
Anyway, someone better gave an insight about how we Indonesian should address you guys now that I'm confused... 😅
