I think it's hard to avoid WWIII as long as the "greed" is growing in "each side" with ''their own beliefs and priorities''.

We might avoid it for now but, with the growth of greed, hatred, hypocritical, anticipation of each side, each developed country building their army also keep adding and developing their nuclear weapons while knowing it will cause a disaster for humanity, for what? Till when they will not use those weapons? Who's going to pushes the button? Who's going to bear the outcomes?. Man itself.

I mean, each side does the same. Not just Russia, not only NATO, not only US, Not only China. All have their own beliefs and priorities.
