Depends on one's needs and preferences, I guess?

It doesn't matter to me personally since I didn't make money from this platform. If someone follows me, I usually will check their profile and see what articles they have written. If I found their account interesting then I'll follow back. But most of the time, if I see a profile following lots of people (above 1k for example), I'll pass.

Again, that's because I'm not on this platform for money since MPP isn't available in my country anyway + I'm novice in writing. I don't wish my home page flooded with too many random topics, so I follow a few.

On another side note, one day, Medium suddenly decided to give me some ghost followers by adding the number of my followers without actual followers, together with the number of accounts that I follow. I only follow 57 accounts but its shows that I followed 65 accounts.
