Chinese-Indonesian here and cat-calling was one of the reasons why I avoid going out too much in my country that known for its racism toward Chinese people.

Having lived and grown up in one of the Asian countries, knowing the culture, now in my almost 35, I couldn't bring myself to date Asian people since the majority are believing that women have to give birth and have kids for continuing the family lines without considering healthy upbringing environment for the kids. I just dislike the idea of 'women have to give birth' or 'make kids for continuing the family lines' without proper thought for the future of the kids, which is one of the factors that led me decided to not to have kids altogether besides other reasons. I have seen too many kids suffering from the lack of a parent's love.

I tried to look for non-Asian people without knowing their culture, thinking that they might be more open-minded but found out it wasn't easy either due to the different cultures and different understanding of certain things. And I also found most of them also wanted kids, for more or less the same reason which doesn't align with my view.

Now after reading your story, it discouraged my already shattered heart. I concluded that no matter what is my appearance, my different mindset from the majority about certain things in life is ruining me for romantic relationships, too! 😅
