Buddha agreed that there’s happiness in this life, “temporarily". :D

As your other sentences pointed out,

“Our entire life, we have experienced the flux from good to bad, good to bad, good to bad.”

So, there’s happiness, but then change with sadness, from happy to sad, happy to sad, happy to sad, growing old, get in sick, being with someone we dislike, or parting with someone we hold dear, and yes, I know a friend who said the Buddha teaching is being gothic or depressing or something like that. lol

The material group isn’t permanent, the feelings group isn’t permanent, the perceptions groups isn’t permanent, the mental formations group isn’t permanent, the consciousness group isn’t permanent, in short, this Panca.Kkhandha isn’t permanent. Something that’s impermanent, does it bring happiness…?

Hence, the first noble truth is declared by Buddha after he discovered “there’s suffering.”

-Everyone runs…..
